Funding led by Healthy.Capital accelerates expansion into new European markets, new product lines and MDR certification for clinical decision support.
Amsterdam, 10 September 2026 – Ask Aletta, the AI-powered clinical knowledge platform used by tens of thousands of healthcare professionals across Europe, has raised €1.5 million in a funding round led by Healthy.Capital, with participation from angel investors active in healthcare and technology. The investment will accelerate Ask Aletta's expansion into new European markets, support new product lines and fund MDR certification for clinical decision support, bringing Ask Aletta directly into clinical workflows.
Clinical knowledge is fragmented across countless guidelines, protocols and reference works, each with its own interface and update cycle. During a busy shift, healthcare professionals often have to search through multiple websites and PDFs, and too often still fail to find the answer they need. Generic AI tools fill that gap with opaque, hard-to-verify answers and create serious data-leak risks as soon as patient information is entered.
Ask Aletta changes that. It interprets every clinical question in the right context and returns concise, referenced answers in seconds, tailored to the healthcare professional's location, language, specialty and institution. Those answers draw on a library of hundreds of thousands of clinical sources, continuously monitored and expanded through automated processes and internal quality controls. Every answer includes full source citations, allowing healthcare professionals to verify the underlying evidence themselves.
Compliance is not a layer added on top of the product; it is built into the foundation of Ask Aletta. Healthcare institutions can give their teams the speed of AI-assisted search without taking on the regulatory and data risks associated with generic tools or shadow IT. While most tools solve one part of the problem, Ask Aletta brings search, institutional knowledge management and live updates together in one clinical knowledge platform. European infrastructure for European healthcare
Healthcare providers across Europe are increasingly moving sensitive workloads away from US-based hyperscalers and towards European alternatives, driven by concerns about data sovereignty and a shifting political climate around transatlantic data flows. Ask Aletta has been built on European infrastructure from day one. All data is stored exclusively with European providers, in European data centres and under European law. The platform is designed to operate within the GDPR and the EU AI Act, with data governance and transparency built in from the start.
Ask Aletta was co-founded in 2024 by Tijs Stehmann, a practising Dutch paediatrician, together with Aram Zegerius and Luuk Gruijs. Together, they combine clinical experience with expertise in AI, software development and building products in regulated environments.
